Evanston, IL Imagination Session Ideas

I loved playing dress up with my friends growing up. Even as an older child we would riffle through my closet that was filled with a mix of regular every day wear, my random one off wild fashion choices like my fluffy vests and then to top it off I was in a performance group that regularly had us get costumes made that we got to keep (lucky me).

I only wish I had more photos of my friends and me in the combinations we came up with, maybe some video too…. You can see a the lone photo of me I can find in high school doing just that in the video at the end.

Going through old albums and recognizing my lack of these photos has inspired my desire to have Imagination Sessions.

Kids love to play and dress up and imagine and create. I want to be able to capture that spark and that story they make for themselves when they have a super hero cape on or a dress that can twirl for days.

It is something a little different, a little chaotic and a lot of fun.

Before the session we talk about what your child would like to step in and become. At the session, I bring all the goodies to make it reality and we meet up and watch a kid transform into who ever they want to be and play how they want to play.

The only tears I have seen at these sessions are when it all comes to an end. But, that is where the photos and videos come in!! Your child can have a piece of that fun forever through photos, albums and a little video.

My favorite spot for these sessions is in places like Downtown Evanston’s murals or fountain square.

It is also fun to explore downtown Libertyville’s alleys and playgrounds to really capture your child’s inner magic. As a bonus – I DO have a few choice skirts for adults as well that go really well with the kid’s dress up items!!! Because who are you kidding, you never grew out of wanting to play make believe. You can see that I never did in that video at the end :D.
